This client information page summarises the practice’s policy in clear language. It is not a substitute for an individual discussion of your circumstances and consent.
Why AI may be used
Aberius Psychology may use ChatGPT as an optional writing aid to help draft, edit or organise progress notes and reports. The psychologist checks and approves all material and retains responsibility for assessment and clinical decisions. This is intended to reduce repetitive paperwork, not to promise faster care or different treatment outcomes.
What is not submitted
Consultations are not audio-recorded, video-recorded, watched or automatically transcribed for AI under this policy. No identifiable client files, photographs, consultation audio or video are submitted. Only manually entered, minimised, generalised text may be used, and it must be excluded if a person could reasonably still be identified.
Your choice and consent
AI-assisted writing requires a separate consent choice. You may decline or later withdraw consent without losing access to psychological care. Withdrawal stops future use for your material, but cannot reverse a submission already made or override a provider's applicable retention obligations.
Privacy, storage and review
ChatGPT is a cloud service, and information processed through it may be handled outside Australia. De-identification is a safeguard, not a guarantee of zero privacy risk. The approved official clinical record is stored separately in the practice's clinical system, not in ChatGPT. All AI-assisted wording is checked before clinical use.
Questions or withdrawal
Contact [email protected] to ask questions about AI-assisted writing or withdraw consent for its future use. Clinical consent, treatment and recordkeeping obligations still apply.
